Lotstreamingistheprocessofsplittingagivenlotorjobtoallowtheoverlappingofsuccessiveoperationsinmulti-stagemanufacturingsystems,therebyreducingthemakespanofthecorrespondingschedule.Inthisresearch,weproposeaheuristicmethodfordiscretelotstreamingwithvariablesublots.Thismethodconsistsoftwoprocedures:(1)determineacontinuoussolution(sublotswithrealvalues)forvariablelotstreamingand(2)deriveadiscretesolutionbyroundingupthecontinuoussolution.Onesampledescriptionispresentedfordemonstrationpurposes.Theresultsshowtheproposedmethodoutperformsdiscretelotstreamingwithconsistentsublots.
